The CVMA is alerting the veterinary profession about an important issue before the Veterinary Medical Board (VMB) at their April 19, 2017 meeting. The VMB’s Animal Rehabilitation Task Force submitted recommendations regarding the practice of animal physical rehabilitation to the VMB which they will consider at their April meeting. Of most importance is whether physical therapists should be able to operate their own independent practices without veterinary supervision and without a veterinarian licensee manager that holds the premises permit. This model would be by referral of a veterinarian and would not include establishing a veterinarian-client-patient relationship (VCPR) on the practice site. Read more.
