Some of the attributes that contributed to our objective success in school—and perhaps continue to contribute to our effectiveness in practice—have a dark side. Perfectionism and people-pleasing tendencies mean that someone else is receiving the best of us, with little left over to invest in mental health or wellness. The imposter phenomenon amplifies this imbalance by telling us we must perform at maximum capacity or risk being found out as incompetent or unworthy. In this webinar, we will unpack each of these personality traps, review how to recognize them, and understand their current role in our mental landscape. We will imagine a life without the pressure of each and outline a strategy to work towards that goal. 1.5 CEUs

Dr. Taylor Miller is a small animal relief veterinarian and professional counselor associate. Her interest in mental health began in veterinary school and culminated in the pursuit of a Masters in Mental Health Counseling during her years in general practice. After nine years exclusively in the veterinary world, she restructured her time to build her counseling practice, Thoughtful Life Counseling. To further her passion for veterinary mental health, Dr. Miller serves on the Board of Directors of Not One More Vet (NOMV), as the co-chair of its education committee, and as project lead to establish NOMV Student Chapters in veterinary educational institutions across the U.S. and abroad.
