CVMA CE Health and Safety Protocols
CVMA Vaccination Policy for In-Person Conferences/Seminars
After extensive discussion by our Board and executive staff, the CVMA has decided until further notice to require proof of COVID-19 vaccination for all attendees of the CVMA’s in-person conferences and seminars, including our forthcoming November 7, 2021 CAVMRC training session, and our 2022 Veterinary Leadership Forum, Spring Seminar, Pacific Veterinary Conference, and Fall Seminar. This decision represents a tightening of our protocols relative to our 2021 Fall Seminar, at which attendees—in addition to being subject to a mask requirement—were “strongly encouraged” to be vaccinated.
Our decision was made after due consideration of a variety of factors, most notably the health and safety of our attendees. With so much uncertainty around COVID and its variants, and additionally in light of the ongoing full vaccine approval process being undertaken by the FDA, we feel like the safest, most responsible course is to insist on proof of vaccination at our events going forward.
The CVMA represents and advocates for a vital part of the California healthcare community, and we need to show leadership during health crises. This is an opportunity for us to do so.
