Distance learning programs are designed for people whose work and family obligations make it difficult for them to attend a regular on-campus program. They are also for students who do not have a veterinary technician training program near where they live.

VASE, a California Alternate Route Program accepted by the California Veterinary Medical Board and approved by the California Bureau of Post-secondary Education, offers the required academic instruction that, combined with the required 4,416 hours experience (before registering or by completion of the class) working for a California licensed veterinarian, qualifies students to sit for the national exam.
