Smarter System, Smoother Access: Your New CVMA Membership Experience

CVMA

This article was originally printed in the Nov/Dec 2025 issue of the California Veterinarian magazine.

This year, the CVMA is undergoing significant changes to update both its appearance and functionality, starting with our new logo and then transitioning to a new Association Management System (AMS). What is an AMS? Think of it like your Practice Information Management System. The AMS is a software platform that serves as the heart of the CVMA’s operations, managing membership records, event registrations, regulatory product sales, customer communications, and more.

For the CVMA staff, this means better efficiency. For you, it means a more user-friendly experience on our website when you:

  • Apply for or renew your membership (among other things, you will now be able to auto-renew your dues payment)
  • Update your profile
  • Manage your practice staff’s memberships
  • Register for events
  • Make purchases
  • Make contributions to the CVMA Political Action Committee and the California Veterinary Medical Foundation
  • Maintain your continuing education records

Please be assured that your data will be securely transferred from our old AMS to the new.

When we go live—which should be right around the time you receive this issue of California Veterinarian—you will need to reset your password. To accomplish this:

  1. Click Login on the cvma.net website.
  2. Next to “Forgot Your Password?”, click the “Click Here” link to begin your password reset using your unique personal email address as your username.
  3. If the email address you entered already exists in the system, you will be sent a link to a page where you can create a new password and then log in.

Once logged in, please take a moment to review and update your member profile. We invite you to:

  • Add a professional photo to your profile
  • Confirm your company name, address, phone numbers, and email address
  • Update your personal information
