Five CVMA Members Appointed to AVMA Committees

The CVMA is excited to announce the five participants in the Donald G. Low/CVMA Clinical Veterinary Medicine Academy for the 2025–2026 academic year. Congratulations to these five outstanding individuals for being chosen for this program! The academy scholars and their service assignments (SA) are as follows:

The Donald G. Low/CVMA Clinical Veterinary Medicine Academy is a joint offering of the CVMA and the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine honoring the late Donald G. Low, a former director of the William R. Pritchard Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital. The CVMA spearheaded the campaign to fund this unique program in 1997 and partners with UC Davis to recruit and select academy scholars.

This academy is offered in a variety of specialty areas, with past SAs including small animal internal medicine, small animal emergency and critical care, nutrition, neurology/neurosurgery, anatomic pathology, behavior, integrative medicine, medical oncology, soft tissue surgery, and ultrasound.

Applications for the 2026–2027 Donald G. Low/CVMA Clinical Veterinary Medicine Academy will open in September 2025. The deadline to apply is December 19, 2025, by 5 pm (PDT). Applications will only be considered from CVMA members who are residents of California.
