Leadership

CVMA’s 15-member Board of Governors sets the policy and vision for the association and is fiscally responsible for its actions.

The House of Delegates, an advisory body to the Board of Governors, is composed of delegates from 35 constituent associations throughout California.

 
Staff

The CVMA staff is responsible for the daily operations of the association. It implements CVMA’s vision and mission and acts as a resource of support and information for its members.

 
History

Founded in 1888, the CVMA was the first veterinary association west of the Mississippi River. Its leaders were among the pioneers of modern veterinary medicine and were instrumental in the establishment of the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of California, Davis.

Headquartered in Sacramento, California, the CVMA represents all segments of the veterinary profession.
