A herd health program forms the bedrock of a healthy and productive herd or flock. Yet, due to the diverse nature of production systems and goals, a one-size-fits-all approach is impractical. Veterinarians play a pivotal role in assisting producers in implementing tailored practices that suit their operations, enabling disease control and timely treatment for animals in need. In this presentation, we will cover common diseases and health challenges in small ruminants and learn preventive measures to mitigate their impact. Additionally, we will discuss how veterinarians can collaborate with producers to implement effective disease control and treatment protocols as well as how to help our clients triage the most common small ruminant emergencies.
This course offers 1.5 CEUs.
