The CVMA is forming a new Education Committee, and we’re looking for members passionate about continuing education to get involved! This committee will play a key role in shaping and supporting our continuing education (CE) programs year-round. By contributing your expertise, you’ll help ensure our CE offerings stay current, high-quality, and impactful—empowering veterinary professionals in their ongoing career growth.

Committee responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with the planning and execution of CE programs, such as the Pacific Veterinary Conference (PacVet), Spring and Fall Seminars, the Food Animal and Equine Medicine Seminars, and webinars;
  • Reviewing and refining program content, delivery, and structure to meet members’ evolving needs;
  • Suggesting topics and speakers for future CE offerings;
  • Reviewing participant feedback;
  • Working with CVMA staff on effective promotion and outreach;
  • Supporting outreach to potential CE speakers; and
  • Promoting CE programs to relevant veterinary communities, ensuring a broad and diverse participation.

The Education Committee will consist of up to 11 members, including representation from the following veterinary specialties and areas of expertise:

  • Avian/Exotics
    Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)
  • Emergency Critical Care
  • Equine
  • One Health
  • Practice Management
  • Small Animal Internal Medicine
  • Small Animal Surgery
  • Technician
  • Wellness

This diverse composition will ensure that the committee has the necessary breadth of knowledge to develop programs that meet the needs of a wide range of veterinary professionals. Committee members will serve a three-year term, with the option to renew once.
