Help Shape The CVMA’s Social Media Future

This article was originally printed in the Sept/Oct 2026 issue of the California Veterinarian magazine.

Do you have a knack for spotting the next big social media trend? Enjoy creating engaging content or brainstorming creative ways to connect with an audience? The CVMA is launching a new Social Media Committee and is seeking members who are eager to help build our digital presence. This is an opportunity to bring your ideas, creativity, and unique perspective to the table while helping the CVMA connect with veterinary professionals, prospective members, and the public.

The CVMA hopes to build a committee that reflects the diversity of the veterinary profession and our membership, bringing together practitioners from a variety of backgrounds, specialties, career stages, and communities. Committee members will serve three-year terms, with a maximum of two terms. If you’re ready to help the CVMA tell its story, expand its reach, and engage audiences in new ways, we’d love to hear from you! Contact Taryn DeOilers at tdeoilers@cvma.net for more information.

COMMITTEE MEMBERS MAY CONTRIBUTE BY:

  • Reviewing social media analytics and identifying opportunities to strengthen the CVMA’s digital communications and marketing efforts
  • Monitoring trends and emerging conversations across the veterinary social media landscape
  • Brainstorming fresh, engaging content ideas for both veterinary professionals and the public
  • Exploring potential collaborations with relevant veterinary influencers and content creators
  • Helping develop and occasionally appear in video content, including Instagram Reels
  • Capturing photos and video at CVMA continuing education events for use on social media

WE’D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU!
